Department Overview
The PPC department serves as the central hub for all other departments in our plant. It monitors the timing and volume of work assigned to each department based on available manpower.
Key Responsibilities
Work Release Planning: The team determines the tonnage to be released on specific dates.
Performance Monitoring: They maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly work output by each department, ensuring that targets are met.
Process Coordination: They oversee the sequential manufacturing processes within the plant.
Document Flow Management: They manage the flow of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and drawings from the head office to the plant, ensuring efficient distribution of work among departments.
Material Optimization
The PPC department utilizes nesting software to create accurate part marks. For instance, when we receive HR plates in a standard width of 1500 mm, the software calculates the optimal sizes to cut, minimizing scrap. This process is known as part marking.
All work in the plant is carried out according to these part marks.
Additional Functions
Inventory Management: They monitor raw material inventory, ensuring that sufficient quantities are always available.
Logistics Coordination: They handle transportation logistics for material dispatch.
Interdepartmental Coordination: The PPC department collaborates with all departments, including accounts, to ensure smooth operations.
